A crowd quickly gathered. Few tried to stop the flames. Someone called the fire station - a rather long while after the flames were ignited. It was a festive atmosphere and It was the first time I met most of my neighbors. Destructive, yes. Creating lots of pollution, yes. But a good time too. No graffiti though.
