This reminds me of an old Peanuts strip about Sally Brown’s depressed school building. Three panels would show Sally talking to the school, which was depicted as a section of brick wall. The fourth panel would show the school’s sardonic response to Sally, who in the meantime had gone. The long series culminated in the building’s collapse, which was obviously intended to be read as suicide.
